After much prayer and thought I decided I want to marry this Emily person. She is beautiful and amazing and the perfect girl for me. I got her dad's permission. I set out on a plan to create an awesome engagement. I talked to her parents and coordinated with them to help me out with this plan. They were excited. I was excited ... and nervous. But I knew she would say yes. We had talked about how we love each other. She had told me she wanted to marry me. And I knew it was right. So I decided to re-create our first date. I surprised her by being at her house when she wasn't expecting me there. She was so shocked she sounded mad when she said, "WHAT are YOU doing here?" So we went off to the Gateway mall, walked past the Apple Store, ate at Applebees in the exact same spot as our first date, and then went mini-golfing and laser tagging. Just like our first date. As we walked back to the car we passed the Apple store and I got on my knee and tied my shoe (purposely untied previously) just to give her a start. I didn't get much reaction from that and then we headed back to her parent's house. She was figuring I wasn't really going to propose when we went back to her house. The date was over, right? No. Once there I walked her over to the spot of our first kiss and we kissed. Then was the moment. We walked into her house. Inside, my parents and Emily's parents had decorated (with instructions from me) with rose pedals and candles. A pathway of roses led to her family room. There I knelt down and proposed. I told her how much I love her and how awesome she is. We got engaged!!!! Captain Picard would be happy.
Emily is stoked.
