Foundation laid. They just need to put the dirt back in...
They put the dirt in!!! Foundation almost done!
Another view of the awesomeness.
Now they have to just finish the foundation, put in the driveway, and then start framing! Word.
Ok, now for more coolness.
Emily and I have set a tentative date for getting married. April 21st! Mark your calendars.
In anticipation of this date. We have a photographer now. She is pretty cool. Here is her blog: http://valoryjeanphotography.blogspot.com/

The Story of How Bill and I Met, According to Emily
This is Emily. I apologize for my lack of posting on this freaking fantastic blog my adorable fiance has made for me. But now I am going to post.
The story of how Bill and I met, according to Emily:
We met online. I was very skeptic when I first signed up for this website. I mean, isn't this how most girls go disappearing and end up murdered. Seriously. But I did it anyway.
One day I stumbled upon this wonderful guy named Bill. I took a look at his pictures and noticed A. He was dressed up as Spock for Halloween B. He apparently loved Flight of the Conchords because he was wearing a shirt with their faces on it. C. He was super attractive. (Like super amazingly attractive) I read a little bit about him and noticed that he had listed that his favorite television show was Battlestar Galactica.
Now those of you that know me, know that I am super, super nerdy. So I decided to message him and ask, "What Battlestar Galactica do you like? The new series, or the old series?" ha ha. Well, apparently that caught his attention and we started messaging for awhile. We agreed to meet one day in front of the Apple store at the Gateway. I was super nervous. What if he didn't look anything like he did in his pictures? What if he was crazy?
But when I saw him I realized that he was the hottest guy I have ever laid eyes upon. Truth. And after our date I realized that he wasn't crazy. (I was though because I was so nervous.)
We hit it off and have been dating for almost a year. He is the greatest guy ever. It's the truth. I love him so much. I'm super lucky to have found such a awesome guy. We have a ton in common and we love spending the time we get to see each other together. I can't wait until we get to see each other everyday. We are building an awesome house in Eagle Mountain. It's going to be boss. I can't wait until it's all finished. I'm super excited to be married to my best friend. I love him.
Well I will write again soon. I promise!
Until next time.

Dreaming ...
Emily and I like to go to furniture stores and pretend we can have furniture for our new house. These are our new favorites!
This was a comfortable mattress. One of our favorites.
We liked this table. Especially because it could come in the same color as our cabinets.
Emily especially likes this table. It smells like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland!!
Also note how cute Emily looks.
Please comment on these posts... especially on our house and furniture selections! Thanks!
Emily Exists
Emily exists. I swear. She just hasn't posted yet. But she promises me that she will. So expect a post from her... sometime.
For now though ... progress has been made on the house! Behold the picture!

We think the square un-dug portion is the garage...
Also, a movie! This is proof Emily exists ...
I know it says video 3. So in a later post videos 1 and 2 will appear :)

Emily's Turn
I vote it is Emily's turn to post some things on this blog. But she doesn't know about this blog yet. It is a surprise present for her. Loves you Emilys!!
It Has Begun!!!
Huzzah!!! They have started our house!!!!
They cleared the weeds and staked the house out!!
Look at them digging!!!
Look at the hole!!!!
Options... options... options...
One advantage of building a house is... you get to choose what it is like! This is what we chose:
This is the carpet we chose. Next to the vinyl (for bathrooms and laundry) and wood floor we choose.
These are the counter tops and cabinets we chose. The cabinet is a glazed alder while the countertop is a laminate.
This is the wood floor we chose. This will go throughout the mudroom, half bath, dining room, and kitchen.
Furniture...
Our new house will probably be empty for a while. But we can dream, right? Emily likes bright colors and contemporary interior design. These are some couches we like:
This is a nice set of couches.
We especially like this sectional.
House?
Since we got engaged Emily and I have been super busy preparing for our future. We decided we want a house. Why rent? Rent was just as much as a mortgage. Ridiculously expensive. And we can. I have a good job. So we went house hunting. We spent a lot of time looking and deciding. It was stressful. We ended up with an awesome house choice though. We chose to go with McArthur Homes to build our future home. We really liked their Cordova floor plan. We have signed the papers and the house will hopefully be done in June!! We are super excited!!!! :) Here are some pictures of the model home of the house we are building. All images are from www.mcarthurhomes.com and the credit goes to them.
Check out this link to see more details on the house we are building.
We won't have a 3rd car garage and the colors will be different.
We like the openness of the kitchen, dining, and family room all together.
Family and dining.
Kitchen. We chose completely different colors.
Master bedroom with retreat. This is how ours will be done.
Master bath.
Emily and I love the reading nook at the stairs.

Engage!
After much prayer and thought I decided I want to marry this Emily person. She is beautiful and amazing and the perfect girl for me. I got her dad's permission. I set out on a plan to create an awesome engagement. I talked to her parents and coordinated with them to help me out with this plan. They were excited. I was excited ... and nervous. But I knew she would say yes. We had talked about how we love each other. She had told me she wanted to marry me. And I knew it was right. So I decided to re-create our first date. I surprised her by being at her house when she wasn't expecting me there. She was so shocked she sounded mad when she said, "WHAT are YOU doing here?" So we went off to the Gateway mall, walked past the Apple Store, ate at Applebees in the exact same spot as our first date, and then went mini-golfing and laser tagging. Just like our first date. As we walked back to the car we passed the Apple store and I got on my knee and tied my shoe (purposely untied previously) just to give her a start. I didn't get much reaction from that and then we headed back to her parent's house. She was figuring I wasn't really going to propose when we went back to her house. The date was over, right? No. Once there I walked her over to the spot of our first kiss and we kissed. Then was the moment. We walked into her house. Inside, my parents and Emily's parents had decorated (with instructions from me) with rose pedals and candles. A pathway of roses led to her family room. There I knelt down and proposed. I told her how much I love her and how awesome she is. We got engaged!!!! Captain Picard would be happy.
Emily is stoked.
Good Advice
Emily showed me a funny video about dating.
You know... some advice from this video stuck out to me. When he is talking about movies he says something like: "If she says anything with space... propose immediately."
Well ... that fits Emily perfectly... what am I waiting for?!
Watch Out!!! Smack!!!
Dodgeball!!!!!!
Emily and I participated in the world record setting largest dodgeball game ever played on this planet called Earth. There were TONS of people there. It was BYU vs Utah. BYU fans outnumbered Utah fans (of course) so the BYU side won. Emily and I were on the BYU side. Both of us were immediately nailed in the face with dodgeballs... We were out so we left. But it was fun!! Everything is fun with Emily.

We are ready for this game.
Mummys!
Halloween... What to do on Halloween? I know! Make an extremely tasty mummy and watch a scary movie! Thats what we did. Best Halloween ever. :)
Mummy Calzone.
Art?
Emily is an artist. She is amazing at it. I am not so much. One fun place for artistic dating is Color Me Mine in Provo. You go there, pick out a ceramic figure, and paint it. Emily and I did that over the course of many dates. It was way fun ... even for me :)
Guess which one is mine...
Death Cab 4 My Cutie
I have never been much of a concert goer. Emily LOVES concerts though. If she could, she would go to concerts fortnightly. So one day I took her to a concert of one of her favorite bands: Death Cab 4 Cutie. It was actually a lot of fun. I had a good time and now like this band. I know Emily had a blast. She even got an awesome t-shirt.
Yay concert!
Of Paper Towels and Marshmallows
Emily and I have had fun dates in our day. One of my favorites is when we built forts out of paper towels and had a war with marshmallows. We each built a fort and tried to knock the other's down with marshmallows. Then we got some pvc pipe, went to the park, and shot each other with our marshmallow blow guns. It was great fun! I can't remember who won... I think it was Emily. :)

Look at Emily's artistic design...
My fort. Kinda plain.
The aftermath...
Paper towel supply for over a year.
Our Nerdiness Begins
The Sun was in our eyes...
How We Met
Emily and I met over the internet at ldssingles.com. We started messaging each other and both discovered that we are the coolest nerds ever. So we decided to meet in front of the Apple store in Salt Lake City. When I first looked at her I was amazed at how beautiful she is and how lucky I was to be going out with her. We hit it off from there. We love watching sci-fi shows together and zombies. We have so much in common its crazy awesome. We have been together for almost 9 amazing months. We got engaged on November 16th. We are awesome. Emily is amazing. We love each other. So here is our blog together... :)
